BRIDGING FAMILIES ON THE CANCER JOURNEY

Our wellness program is designed to provide survivors, children of survivors, and their caregivers with practical tools that will aid in their ability to navigate through five critical components of their recovery: Nutrition, Fitness, Coping with Cancer, Mindfulness, and Therapy, all in a fun-filled way that is age appropriate for the children of the survivors.

GAS AND GROCERY VOUCHERS

Cancer is a very expensive disease that often impacts the patient and their family beyond the recovery period. We assist families that are struggling to feed their families by referring them to our resource partners that manage food pantries. Contingent on available funding, we also provide families with gift card(s) for groceries and other essential items that are needed. Gas cards are also imperative, at times, we have families that are required to commute out of town/state for specialized treatments on a weekly basis.

HOPE BASKETS

Our Hope Baskets are personalized for cancer survivors that are currently undergoing treatment. Each basket contains healthy and essential items and gift cards that will aid in the overall support as patients recover from surgery and/or treatment.

KATHY HARVEY SCHOLARSHIP

Kathy Harvey was a dedicated volunteer who passed away unexpectedly. In Kathy’s honor, each year, we select a high school graduate, that has been impacted by cancer to receive this award. Recipients must also complete at least 10 hours of community service for “The Pink Queen Foundation”.

The Meaning Behind The Logo

The Head – This logo symbolize the impact that Breast Cancer has on the human race. Your gender, ethnic background, religion, or financial status will not save you from this disease. Anyone could be diagnosed at anytime or anywhere.

Arm Sleeve – Showing support and raising awareness for those that suffer from Lymphedema. This is caused when lymph nodes are removed due to cancer stage. There is no cure for this disease. However, exercise, wearing the compression sleeve and massages controls the inflammation, and discomfort. I personally have been diagnosed with Lymphedema.

The Apparel – A crown turned upside down for “queen or king status”. I chose a pink crown because this color represents charm, sensitivity, can be linked to being feminine or masculine. A queen or king can either carry this apparel or wear it with strength.
